Dental Technology We Offer

Digital X-Rays

We use digital dental x-rays to reduce your radiation exposure by up to 90%, compared to traditional film-based x-rays. A digital dental x-ray is also more fast, safe, and accurate.

Soft Tissue Laser

We use laser dentistry for gum contouring, removing small oral lesions, and treating cold sores. Lasers are effective for cold sore treatment because they destroy the herpes simplex virus that causes cold sores.

Intraoral Camera

We use an intraoral camera no bigger than an electric toothbrush to take high-quality pictures of your teeth and gums. This allows our dentist to better diagnose oral health issues and help you understand what’s going on inside your mouth. Since the intraoral camera takes pictures in high detail, we’re able to detect tooth decaygum disease, and other problems in their early stages.

Oral Cancer Screening

According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 37,000 Americans are diagnosed with oral cancer each year. Approximately 8,000 of these diagnoses result in death. Fortunately, our dentist uses oral cancer screenings to catch mouth cancer in its early stages so you have the best chance of survival. Our dentist was trained by one of the nation’s top oral pathologists, Don John Summerlin, and provides regular and thorough oral cancer screenings to all patients.

*If you use tobacco products, ask about our tobacco cessation program.

DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detection

We use DIAGNOdent to detect weaknesses in tooth enamel before they become cavities. We use a laser to measure the density of your tooth, which is perfectly safe. By detecting cavities early, we’re able to save as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Deep Bleaching

If you have severe tooth discoloration, our dentist may recommend deep bleaching. Deep bleaching combines both at-home and in-office teeth whitening options so you can start smiling with confidence.

Interactive Patient Education

Through Dr. VanSlambrouck’s ongoing membership with Spear Education, our office has the privilege of sharing exceptional content to help you learn about your oral health, procedures our team provides, and post-op information.
